Your device calculates a unique fingerprint. The file itself is never uploaded.

The fingerprint is sealed into a public blockchain record, usually within 15 minutes.

Your receipt shows the file existed at that time and that not one byte has changed.

What a proof can and can't do
It proves this exact file existed before a certain time and hasn't been changed.
It doesn't prove the content is true or who made it. It isn't a qualified timestamp under EU eIDAS rules, and a court decides what weight to give it.
